I have a very well-worn copy of the Fragrant Pharmacy by Valerie Ann Worwood which goes back to 1994. I bought it in London after I came back from living in America. While there I pursued my interest in massage & healing at the Alive and Well Institute of Conscious Bodywork in Mill Valley, California.
The Fragrant Pharmacy is wonderfully comprehensive and I built up a range of essential oils as people, mostly women, came to me with differing scenarios to resolve. I worked with women wanting to conceive and as, happily, most of them did, I find the page falls open on exhaustion remedy in the chapter on preparing for the birth. Lavender, grapefruit and coriander.
The right oil can transform things in a moment. doTerra is a wonderful American company selling organic, food safe oils. The raw materials are harvested in the places they have always grown and the producers are generously paid and supported. I am glad to support the principles they work from and also delight in the benefits I experience.
The top oils for working with menstrual issues are geranium, clary-sage, nutmeg, rose maroc, bergamot – you could use these singly or in any combination that you enjoyed.
