This is a wonderful and rich means of going deeper into the wisdom and energetics of your menstrual or life cycle. We can work with it in person or online via Zoom.

With a clear intention or inquiry in place I invite you to imagine and step into the centre of your cycle.

From this viewpoint you are likely to be drawn to a particular part of the cycle in which there is guidance for you. This can be in the form of images or memories, physical sensation or insight which we sit with as they both reveal and heal anything held around your intention. 

This sounds simple, and it is, but in my experience always brings forth something you already knew but hadn’t brought into consciousness as it accesses your deeper knowing, the intelligence of your cycle and larger arc of your life. 

It’s always pertinent and releases energy in the area of your life you look at. Shifts start to occur and changes unfold, often in profound ways.

Menstrual Cycle Awareness

This is the practice of observation, noticing the headlines of each day of your cycle to gain a familiarity with the flow of energy for you, physically and emotionally. This brings the feedback aspect of the cycle into focus.

You discover when you are deeply tired, wired, happy or sad, when arguments flare, when you feel most dispirited or inspired.

You’ll be more conscious of how your lifestyle and intentions create your experience and, understanding that the body always seeks to come back to balance, find kindness and intimacy in fine-tuning this collaboration with your cycle.

You’ll be more able to read its messages and, responsive rather than reactive, you’ll nourish yourself, your relationships and your life.

While this is entirely beneficial for someone whose cycle is already easy it can also be enough to shift the dynamics of any symptoms you may be experiencing.

Free Your Feelings, Stir Your Spirit

I wrote about the practicalities of hot flushes in my last post. With those under your belt you can start to treat them like a yoga pose.

 

Susan Weed describes them as waves of energy that free your feelings and stir your spirit. If you can steady yourself when you feel the heat rising and appreciate it as a process that cleanses, heals and reveals it is easier to breath through the intensity and back into the cool of your normality.

 

This transition is towards a more powerful incarnation of yourself, one freed from old stories and conditioning. I like to imagine hot flushes as nascent power showing itself to clear out those stories and make space for that which is brewing.

 

There is a great reframing happening around peri/menopause. We can work together to create a healthy container for your experience in which you can harvest the benefits of this wonderful transition.
